PRESS: Govt, oil firms fail to agree on fuel prices so far

MOSCOW, Apr 3 (PRIME) -- The Russian government and oil companies have so far failed to agree on fuel prices, business daily Vedomosti reported Wednesday citing sources.

In October 2018, the Energy Ministry, the Federal Antimonopoly Service and 10 large oil companies signed agreements to fix fuel prices until April 2019. In late March, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and his deputy Dmitry Kozak promised to extend agreements with oil producers for another quarter.

But sources said the Energy Ministry and the antimonopoly service have so far failed to provide draft agreements to oil companies, as the government cannot come to a single position.

The issue will be now discussed at a meeting at Medvedev on Thursday, they said.
